2011 UPDATE:
Here’s update on the lives of some of the MFSO members that appear in the film.
- Maggie Pondolfino’s son spent 14 months in what was known as the Sunni Triangle of Death. His platoon suffered many casualties. He later completed a year-long deployment in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. He is back in Oregon now and a member of the Washington National Guard.
- Adele Kubein’s daughter received permanent full medical discharge. She struggles with pain, but she is engaging in volunteer work and school. The scars of war remain in body and soul, but she is just as brave and committed now as she was in Iraq.
- Annette and Mark Pritchard continued to march and speak out as a family with their two sons, until Mark’s untimely death in December of 2010. Annette continues to raise her family with the same commitment to peace and grace. They continue to mourn the loss of Annette’s nephew.
- Suzanne Brownlow’s son Jared is using the GI bill to go to four years of college, and then he plans to go to medical school by the ROTC. He’s making A’s.
- Linda and Michael’s son completed his service in Iraq in August 2005. Dan received the Army’s Commendation Medal for his service and was honorably discharged from the Army in October of 2005. Linda and Michael have continued to be active in MFSO and other community organizations supporting veterans and their families.
